Whilst based on the highly successful Nera F77 system for large merchant vessels, the Nera F33 has been specifically tailored for motor and sailing yacht applications. Thanks to its unique Mobile Packet Data Service (MPDS) capabilities, a whole new generation of advanced maritime communication services are now available.

The Nera F33 uses a new form of compression which tests done by third parties have shown that it is possible to achieve throughputs up to 56 kbps on the 9.6 kbps channel. In which case the use of the Nera F33 for file transfers and similar activity can be more cost effective than using a 64 kbps connection with the Nera F55 or Nera F77.

Nera F33 is also a highly cost-effective communications package to operate. That is because you only pay for data actually transmitted and received - even though the system is permanently connected online. This also has the advantage of vastly reduced connection times speeding the process of downloading e-mails and other data files.
